Hey friends! I had a lot of questions about my outfits while I was in Vegas so I decided to do a quick roundup of everything I wore!Read More
I receive so many DM's from you all asking where you should go when you visit LA. One place I have loved exploring is Venice! You could easily spend a whole day walking around Abbot Kinney and Rose just eating, shopping, drinking, exploring, and taking pics ;) Today, I'm going to walk you through a few of my favorite spots in Venice- be sure to check some of them out if you visit LA and let me know what you think!
Moon Juice is the cutest, healthiest, and most charming little juice shop in town. They have plant- based products that aim at healing your body from within- oh and they also taste amazing! I loveee their organic pressed juices, smoothies, lattes, matcha, and D U S T S! You have to get a dust in your drink when you go to Moon Juice or pick up a jar of Dust to take home! Moon Dusts are blends of adaptogens, superherbs, and minerals designed to enhance your wellness throughout the day. Each blend is expertly and intentionally formulated to enhance a specific aspect of your life. Example: Brain Dust, Power Dust, Beauty Dust etc. So cool! They even have a whole Moon Juice cook book!
Some of my all-time favorite beauty products are from Smashbox and their Venice store is so cute! It's actually set up to feel like a giant photo studio! They have a ton of makeup services and you truly feel like you're a celebrity on set when you're getting your makeup done! Their studio has everything you need to get a new headshot or take some fun selfies. There's also a sparkly lip-shaped swing, a 3-D lipstick printer, and a build-your-own gloss bar- so fun!! Some of my favorite products are the Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Full Exposure Mascara, and the 24 Hour Shadow Primer!
Most people know Pressed Juicery for their juices (which are amazing) BUT have you tried Pressed Juicery Freeze?! You will be blown away at how amazing it is. Here's the scoop: Freeze is a soft-serve frozen treat that uses only juices from fruits and vegetables, almonds and coconuts. It's a vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free dessert made from the same ingredients found in their most-loved juice flavors. The first time I ever tried it, I honestly did not think it would taste as good as it did. I quickly became HOOKED and would pick it up about once a week. It's so healthy and you don't feel bad after eating it but it totally satisfies your sweet tooth! And obviously, they have a ton of yummy pressed juices- my favorites are Greens 2, Vanilla Almond, Citrus 2, and Golden Milk.
These mouth watering donuts will have you falling in love at first bite. They are made fresh starting at 3 am every day and you can taste the freshness as they literally melt in your mouth (not exaggerating). They have fun unique flavors and always come out with new seasonal flavors- my all time favorite are Blueberry Bourbon Basil, Buttermilk Old Fashion, and Raspberry Rosemary Buttermilk. SO GOOD. Don't leave Venice without trying one!
I feel like my mind was blown after 5 minutes in Saje. I've heard of essential oils before, but never truly understood the benefits. Their whole mission is to introduce people the power of 100% natural, plant-derived wellness products. Saje offers natural skin care, body care, home products, and essential oils. I got to try out their Pocket Farmacy and learn about the uses for each oil blend. I put the Peppermint Halo on my neck and within minutes felt the tension go away. Amazing! I'm so excited to try out my new diffuser and learn even more about essential oils!
Hourglass isn't your average makeup store, it's truly a luxury experience. We met with Lissy and Katy and they were SO knowledgeable about the product. I love how they have a highly curated selection of products so you don't feel overwhelmed by all the options. I was in love with their whole Ambient Lighting collection- they have the perfect highlighters, blushes, and bronzers that give you a gorgeous glow without being too sparkly or shimmery. I loved the Girl Lip Stylo collection- the colors are gorgeous BUT they also have empowering names for all of the shades! ALSO- majority of their products are vegan and they will be 100% vegan by 2020!
Show Me Your Mumu
Well, you guys already know I love this store and if you follow me on Instagram, you've seen me post a ton of their styles. They have the best on-trend styles with a boho twist. Their store on Abbot Kinney is so cute and they have a ton of options online as well! It's easily become one of my favorite stores and you have to check out their cute pieces!
If you're looking for cute home decor, fun trinkets, clever souvenirs, gorgeous succulents, or tiny cacti... Grow is the place to go. I always stop by when I'm in Venice and walk out with some sort of super cute trinket that I didn't know I needed. They literally have it ALL here. Be sure to stop by and pick up something cute during your trip!
Tumbleweed & Dandylion
Tumbleweed & Dandylion makes the yummiest, handcrafted, soy candles with the most unique scents. They also offer custom home furnishings and home decor that are all handcrafted in America. When you walk in, you'll feel right at home with their cute decor and cozy set up.
It's worth the hype guys. Butcher's Daughter is a plant-based restaurant, cafe, and juicery... and yes it's healthy but it's also so good! Definitely try their Avocado toast and get a juice flight (because picking just one is too hard). It's such a gorgeous space that's bright and airy and makes for cute Instagrams... :)
Gjelina has the best pizza, hands down. Cort and I have been to Gjelina for a handful of date nights and we are amazed every time. Also try their mushroom toast! Sounds kind of weird but it's so good (and I don't even like mushrooms!). Try to get a reservation because it fills up F A S T. We love to sit outside on the back patio on a warm night. If you can't get a reservation and don't want to wait for two hours, go next door to GTA (Gjelina Take Away). It's Gjelina's sister store that serves many of the same menu items with no wait. We stumbled upon it when we couldn't get into Gjelina's one evening and we were STARVING, so we ended up going to GTA and grabbing pizza to eat right outside! It was perfect and tastes the exact same!
The best coffee and cappuccinos in Venice! They have a cute outdoor seating area but the inside has a cool industrial feel as well. We've gone out of our way so many mornings just so we can grab a cup from Intelligentsia! Always worth it!
Venice Whaler- fun dive bar with a gorgeous view of the ocean
Jeni's Ice cream- the BEST ice cream! My fav is Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks.
Tocaya Organica- amazing tacos and guac!
Cafe Gratitude- Plant based restaurant with the BEST bowls!
Cerveteca- Amazing Mexican with the BEST margs!
Hi friends! I had so much fun in New York for Fashion Week and I'm so excited to share all of my adventures (and outfits) with you guys! I'm very very thankful that I had the opportunity to go to Fashion Week- It's been a dream of mine for so long. I had a few moments while I was there that I just kind of stopped and looked around like "is this real?!". I can't wait to go back!
Okay so Day 1 started with an event at Sam Edelman to launch their new lifestyle collection. I got to meet Sam Edelman and the rest of their amazing team which was so cool. The brand is expanding to offer lounge wear, lingerie, and clothes in addition to the shoes and handbags that they currently offer. Let me tell ya- their new stuff is sooo good. After the event, we went out for pizza (yesss!!) and crashed at the hotel.
Day 2 started with an early morning photoshoot at the Flat Iron building (such a NYC icon). I was wearing this adorable pajama style set from ASOS. It was super comfortable, but also such a statement! I've mentioned a few times that white boots/shoes are going to be H U G E this fall and I loved rockin this pair from ASOS on the streets of NYC. After we shooting, we headed to the Bollare showroom to pick up some goodies. The theme was Disco Dreams and they had cute disco balls and fun decor everywhere. They greeted us with ice cream so naturally, I was in love. Next stop was the Galtiscopio show which was so fun! They started the show with a performance followed by their amazing collection of metallic dresses- I loved all the shimmer! (see a few of my favorite pieces from their collection below!) Stay tuned for my next recap- I'll be sharing more from my trip and all my outfits!

Happy Fridayyy!!!! Today, I'm sharing some pics from our trip to Portland and a few of my travel essentials!
My sister-in-law (Cort's twin), Arlee, moved out to Portland a few months ago and we have been wanting to visit for a while! I hit the jackpot in the sister-in-law category. I feel like you always hear horror stories, but mine are awesome. And I was actually friends with Arlee wayyy before I was friends with/dating Cort. We decided to go out to visit over Labor Day weekend and we picked the perfect time go to. We were #blessed with amazing weather and we were able to pack so much into our time there.
I loved all the old houses. We walked around a lot just taking it all in and admiring all of the charming, quaint neighborhoods. We ate at some really good restaurants and went out to ice cream every night :))) On Labor Day, we went kayaking and it was soooo gorgeous. When Cort and I kayaked in Chicago, we had a double kayak so I didn't really do any work. This time, Alree and I had our own kayaks (so I actually had to do something if I wanted to move) and it was a workout, let me tell ya! I was so sore the next day!
Before my trip, I made sure that I had everything I needed. I wanted some good headphones for the plane ride but I didn't want to spend a ton of money. These Edifier headphones cancel out a lot of noise which was so helpful on the plane, and they're cute :) I also really wanted a backpack to bring through the airport because I have learned the hard way that a big purse is not always fun to lug around. I end up with a sore shoulder and a tense neck. I got a super cute leather backpack from Shop Suey right before my trip and it was a total lifesaver! They have so many cute backpacks and purses.
You probably saw in the pictures above, but my new suitcase from Away is life changing. It has a built in charger. Does it get any better than that?! I hate when you have to awkwardly sit by someone else at your gate because you're trying to squeeze next to the charger. It also has a lock and it's super lightweight. Revolutionary!
I also made sure to rock my sneakers and distressed denim at the airport for a comfortable, but cute, look. I've linked everything below!!
I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
Today I'm sharing a recap of our weekend in Chicago. Cort and I love to go on little weekend trips to get away, even if we're not traveling super far. We always come back feeling so refreshed and it's a great change of pace from our day-to-day. This trip was a littleeee different for a couple reasons. One, I'm in a boot for a stress fracture, so we were a little worried about how much walking I would be able to do. Two, we are doing Whole30 so we wouldn't be able to indulge in our usual Chicago favorites and we had to put a lot of thought into finding restaurants that served Whole30 approved foods. We knew this trip would be a tad more complicated and we needed to get creative about what activities we could do and where we would eat. Cort and I love being on the water, so I had the idea of Kayaking. It was perfect because there was obviously no pressure on my foot, but it was still something active that we could do in the city.
We rented Kayaks through Wateriders and absolutely loved it. We've never done something like this before so it was so fun to do something different. First of all, the views were absolutely incredible. You kayak right through the city on the Chicago river. We opted for a self guided tour so we could take our time and not rush... you know, gotta snap some selfies and gawk at the buildings like a tourist :) The staff was so friendly and hilarious and our instructor looked and sounded exactly like James Franco. They gave us a little lesson before we went out, because guys, kayaking is a workouttt!!! I was feelin it in my arms (Cort did most of the work though). You can rent individual or double kayaks. We opted for the double so we could talk and not have to worry about me drifting away because I couldn't keep up. This was definitely our favorite part of our trip and I highly recommend kayaking with Wateriders if you're planning a trip to Chicago. Lots of pics from our adventure below. Keep reading for where we ate and what else we did!
Have a great day guys!!
San Francisco, California
On Sunday, I returned from a 5 day trip to San Francisco with my husband! It was my first time in San Fran, and I loved it. It's such a unique city and nothing at all like southern California. A couple months ago, my husband told me that he needed to go to SF for a work trip. He only had to work for 2 days so he asked if I wanted to come along and extend our trip to 5 days for a little vacay! It didn't take me too long to say yes! Our hotel was right downtown in Union Square so there were a ton of cool restaurants, shops, and fun things to do right where we were staying. The two days that Cort worked, I definitely stayed busy exploring the city. I walked 13 miles on the first day basically just from shopping and walking around haha. Whoever said shopping wasn't a workout..... lol. I decided to venture out of the city on the second day and go see the famous Painted Ladies houses in Alamo Square. I walked to Hayes Valley where there are a ton of cute houses, colorful boutiques, coffees shops, and cool restaurants. In the evenings, Cort and I went on some adventures when he got off work. We went to Coit Tower and Lombard Street. Both were such a hike! Oh my gosh the streets are sooooo steep there. Like I felt like I was walking at a 45 degree angle. We had some yummmmy Italian food in Little Italy and also went to Ghirardelli Square for some chocolate.
The rest of the days, Cort didn't have work so we got to explore together. One day, we biked across the Golden Gate Bridge which was so fun. Just biking to the bridge was sooo hard. It's super hilly so there were times I had to walk my bike because I felt like I was going to start rolling backwards. At one point, I pulled off of the sidewalk to take a picture and I got tangled in my bike and fell off... and this was on flat land (embarrassing). Anyways, biking across the Golden Gate Bridge was soooo gorgeous. The views were incredible and it was one of those moments where pictures just don't do it justice. We biked into Sausalito which is such a cool city in the Bay Area that is super European. It was so gorgeous and quaint and we had the bet Italian food (again). I don't know why there is so much good Italian food in SF, but I'm not complainin!
On our last day we went to the beautiful Wine Country in Sonoma/Napa Valley. So many people told me that I had to go while I was visiting because it was so romantic and gorgeous. They were totally right! We have some friends who moved out to SF about a year ago and they live 30 minutes from Napa so we met up with them and had such a good time! They drove us through the mountains which were incredible (and kind of scary to drive through) and then had some amazing wine with gorgeous views! It was such a fun, memorable trip and I'm glad we packed so much into our 5 days. I'm probably forgetting some things that we did, but hope you enjoyed this quick recap! Have a great day everyone!
