A couple weeks ago I had the amazing privilege to travel to Aurora, New York to visit the MacKenzie-Childs headquarters with LVPR and a handful of other bloggers. We had such an incredible time learning about the brand, touring the headquarters and seeing the production process in real life. I walked away feeling so inspired by the passion and creativity of this unique and quirky brand. I can't wait to share some pictures of our trip and a little bit about the brand!
Let's start with the group I traveled with. There were 7 of us bloggers on the trip- Ali Stone, Karina Reske, Sabrina Tan, Aylin, Liz Adams, and Cathy Williamson. A couple of these girls I was already friends with but we all connected so quickly and had the best time together. We stayed in the cutest little town of Aurora which is right off Lake Cayuga in Upstate NY. The town is so quaint and almost feels frozen in time. We stayed at the Inns of Aurora at the Rowland House which was a charming little bed and breakfast that overlooked the lake. The sunsets were gorgeous and I felt like I was on a little retreat- it was so peaceful!
Our trip consisted of so many fun activities such as tours the Inns of Aurora and the MacKenzie Childs Farmhouse, ornament painting and pottery painting, wine tasting, a tour of the MacKenzie-Childs production facility, a meeting with the MacKenzie-Childs marketing team, a boat ride on Lake Cayuga, a Facebook Live segment, nightly holiday themed dinners, and so much more. My favorite part of our trip was the production facility tour which gave me such an appreciation for the brand!. As we walked through, we learned about the whole production process from start to finish. There is so much that time and attention to detail that goes into each handmade ceramic piece from cutting the clay, to hand painting it. You can watch more on my story highlights here.
I left this trip feeling so inspired and thankful for this opportunity! The whole weekend was so picturesque and charming and I could not have imagined a better week. After learning about this brand, I’m excited to find ways to incorporate some pieces into my home. I know they will mean so much more to me after seeing the hands that worked on each of the pieces! Huge thank you to LVPR and MacKenzie-Childs for inviting me on this trip!
