Alright you guys! This is one post that I've been SUPER excited to share with y'all- My Mid-Century Modern living room reveal! I gave you a few peeks on my Instastories and the response from you guys was insane!!! I was so happy that you loved the pieces and I couldn't wait to show you the finished product!! So here we go!!!
Before I dive in, I have to give some credit to At Home. All of the pieces you see in this post are from At Home which is one of my FAVORITE home stores (I went to the one in Noblesville, IN). If you've never been to At Home, it's essentially a massive warehouse filled with aisles upon aisles of furniture, home decor, and literally anything you need for your house, at unbeatable prices. I've shopped at At Home for a few years now and our first apartment was almost entirely furnished/decorated with pieces from At Home. We moved to LA which, sadly, didn't have an At Home, but I have loved being so close to an At Home store since we've been back in Indy. I've already made like 7 trips (no joke).
My goal with this living room was to create a clean, uncluttered space with a Mid-Century Modern design. I wanted to have fun with this room and give it some pops of color and retro flare, all while still keeping it peaceful and relaxing. I centered this whole room around this incredible sofa. I've dreamed of having a velvet, navy sofa for such a long time but I felt like everything I found was so expensive. I knew that I couldn't spend so much on such a fun, trendy piece so I searched high and low for a more affordable version, and of course I found it at At Home for under $500. It's also insanely comfortable! Whenever someone comes over and compliments the sofa, I tell them that they need to sit on it because I want them to feel how comfortable it is!
Another must-have on my list was plants on PLANTS! And when I say plants, I mean faux plants because the Lord definitely did NOT bless me with a green thumb! I can't keep anything alive, but I love the look of lots and lots of greenery. It adds a pop of color but it also makes a home feel more welcoming and cozy. Whenever I post on my stories you guys send me so many DM's about my plants! I'm so glad you love them as much as I do. At Home has an insane selection of faux succulents, cacti, palm plants, and more. I wanted to buy everything in sight, but I didn't want our living room to look like a greenhouse ;)
I'm so beyond happy with how this room turned out! I was able to find everything to fulfill my vision and make my Pinterest board come to life with all of these affordable pieces from At Home. I know that I showed you a very specific style with these pieces, but At Home truly has a style for everyone including Metro, Urban, Boho Chic, Tribal, Vintage, Beachy, and more. I hope that you guys loved this post because I had so much fun putting it together! I will definitely be showing more home decor posts as you guys have requested. I'm linking everything below so you can see photos of it, but be sure to check here to find an At Home location near you.
Since I've obnoxiously talked about my Mid-Century Modern obsession during this blog post, I thought I would leave you with some tips and things to look for if you also love to decorate with this style:
