Updating the Basics

Let’s face it, your basics get a lot of wear and tear.  You know what I mean, the leggings you wear almost every day, your classic tee shirts, the sweaters that go with almost everything. I find myself pulling the same 3-4 basic items out of my closet all the time because they’re easy, hassle free, and very versatile.  Today I’m talking about giving these basics an update.

I have a pair of leggings that I wear all the time and a handful of ivory/white/cream sweaters that I tend to grab and wear with everything. Needless to say, these items have accrued a lot of miles during these fall and winter months... And [yawn], it's boring to wear the same black leggings and plain sweaters all the time.

They started to look a little worn, so it was time to give them an update.  These leggings are amazing! I love the faux suede and leather side panel.  It's definitely a nice change from my plain black leggings.  They're fresh and a little edgy which I love. This sweater has already become a favorite of mine in the short time that I've owned it. I can tell this is going to be an item that I have on repeat for a while and even into the spring…  (Also, they're both on sale at Magnolia Boutique!) In my last post, I mentioned that lately I've been gravitating towards a black/neutral/and blush color scheme. I didn't realize it but I combined the same colors in this outfit and again when I wore this on Saturday. I guess I really do love it!

I accessorized with a blush bag from Shop Suey Boutique and a dainty cross necklace from Quan Jewelry. I teamed up with Quan Jewelry to give my readers $5 off any item from their site. They have a ton of hand crafted and expressive pieces of dainty jewelry on their site! Use code Kathleen$5off:)

What are your most worn items in your closet? Maybe it's time to give those an update? Comment below!
