My Lululemon Pants and Leggings Review

For those of you who don’t know, lululemon recently discontinued my favorite Wunder Under legging style (insert crying emoji here)! While I was devastated to hear the news (and I know a lot of you were too), lululemon still has two other styles that I LOVE. I’ve gotten so many questions about which leggings are my favorite and what I think about lululemon’s other styles. So today I’m sharing my other two favorite styles (the Align and Wunder Train) and I’m also trying out 3 new (to me) styles that you all have asked about. I also did a full try-on over on stories (saved to highlights) so be sure to watch that but here’s a recap of my full review…

Align

  • Size 2 ( I size down in these because they have more stretch and I like my leggings tight!)

  • I’m wearing 25” -hits above my ankle

  • Super stretchy/comfy

  • Soft light weight fabric

  • Made for yoga/low intensity

  • Minimal seam, high waist

This is one of lululemon’s most popular styles, one of my faves, and according to a recent poll, it’s one of YOUR faves. What I love most about the Align leggings is how stretchy, buttery soft and comfortable they are. They are meant to be worn for yoga or low intensity workouts (I wear mine for weightlifting, solidcore, etc). A lot of people complain about them pilling, but I personally have not had that issue- make sure you don’t wear them for high intensity/impact workouts and also always wash in cold water and hang dry them - here’s a post on how I care for my workout clothes.

Align Bodysuit

  • Size 6 (I wear a 2 in the leggings, but an 8 in align tops so I sized in the middle)

  • I’m 5’5” and it fits just above the ankle

  • Super stretchy and comfortable

  • So versatile - easy to dress up or dress down

  • Made for casual or low intensity wear

When I purchased the align bodysuit I didn’t know how much I’d end up absolutely LOVING it! I’ve been wearing it all summer long and plan on wearing it all fall, too! It’s so versatile that you can wear it with a sweater, a button-up, blazer, sandals, sneakers or uggs! I can’t say enough great things about this piece. I feel sucked-in, yet comfortable while wearing it. See below for a few ways I styled it or check out this reel here!

Wunder Train

  • Size 4

  • More supportive/a little compressive than Aligns

  • Cool feeling on the inside

  • Fastest drying material

  • Made for training/higher impact

This is another style that I’m super familiar with, so they aren’t new to me. They are made for training/high intensity workouts and are lululemon’s fastest drying fabric which wicks away sweat. They have a drawstring which I just ignore - I don’t think it’s needed for them to stay up. They feel similar to the Align leggings but are a bit more sleek and keep you dry during workouts. I also love the thick waistband for extra support. Also, according to my poll, this is another one of YOUR favorite lululemon styles!

InStill

  • Size 4, 25”

  • More of a snug/structured fit

  • Still a super soft comfy material

  • Made for yoga but I would try them for weight lifting

  • Not sure how I feel about the front seam/waistband

This is a new style for me, and my first impression is that they are super soft and comfy with a little more support than the Align leggings. The one thing that I’m not so sure about is the seam in the front. I like a thick waistband because I like to be sucked in and supported. I just don’t think they’re as flattering on me for my body type, but I know a lot of you really love this style. One common complaint about these leggings is that the waistband rolls down and doesn’t stay put - I’ll wear these to my next workout and report back.

Fast & Free

  • Size 4, 25” length

  • Made for running

  • Usually don’t like pockets but these aren’t terrible

  • Snug fit, SUPER light weight/breezy

  • Weightless sleek fabric

The Fast & Free style is made for running, and my first impression is that they are insanely breathable and lightweight. I think these would be perfect for wearing in the summer. While the fabric is a little thinner, they still pass the squat test and are supportive. I usually don’t like pockets on leggings (which is one of the reasons I haven’t tried this style before) but I actually like this style a lot more than I thought I would. They have a thick waistband and there is no seam at the ankle. I don’t go on long runs, but I did a question box on stories asking if runners liked these, and the response was overwhelmingly positive!!! A lot of you said you love these for long runs (marathons with no chaffing!!), orange theory, cycling, etc!

Base Pace

  • Size 4

  • Made for running

  • Very tight around the waist and dig into my sides

  • Super slick/cool/lightweight

TBH - I don’t love this style and I’ll be returning them. They are not comfortable on me because they dig into my waist (as you can see in the pics) and they are super tight. Maybe if I had more of an hourglass shape, they’d work for me.. but since I have more of a boxy, rectangular shape, I feel like they’re digging into my waist too much! The one thing I do like about them is how slick they are since they’re made for running! The material feels really sleek and cool. I did a question box on stories and the reviews were all over the place. Some of you said you love them, some of you said they also dig into your sides, some of you said to size up. It was a mixed bag, but ultimately a no for me!

Groove Flare Pant

  • Size 2 (Could size up to a size 4 if I wanted them to fit just a bit looser)

  • I’m 5’5” and they just hit the floor. I don’t need any alterations.

  • Super versatile and can be worn dressed up or down

  • Material is soft and stretchy - similar to the aligns

  • I wear casually only

When I first saw the groove flare pant drop on Lululemon’s site, I was instantly brought back to middle school years! These were a style I loved back then and continue to love now! The material is similar to the align leggings - so think soft and buttery! These pants are also a such a versatile piece in my closet. I dress them up with a sweater and down with a t-shirt. As far as fit, I’m 5’5” and they just hit the ground so I don’t need them to be hemmed. I purchase them in my align legging size (2), but could size up to a 4 if I’m wanting a slightly looser fit!

I hope this was helpful!! Overall, my favorites are still the Wunder Train and Align but I was pleasantly surprised by the Fast and Free and wondering if the InStill might grow on me (the main thing throwing me off is that front seam and narrow waistband). Linking everything below!
